# Samsung Foundry Wins First Neuralink Chip Order to Manufacture Gen-4 BCI Chip on 4nm Process

Samsung Foundry has begun developing Neuralink's fourth-generation brain-computer interface chip, codenamed O1, using a 4nm process — the first direct chip manufacturing contract between the two companies, displacing TSMC which made prior generations. The new chip is designed for bidirectional brain-device communication; test chips are targeted for H1 2027 with mass production possible by end of 2027.
